Senior Exploitation Engineer (Calgary, Alberta)

The Company
Our client has oil and natural gas assets and currently produce approximately 10,400 boe/d (54% oil weighted). They have an approved 2010 capital budget of $58M capital which will be mainly focused on exploitation projects in their four core areas.
The Position
Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering and Williston Basin Team Lead, our client immediately requires the services of an Exploitation Engineer with a strong reservoir engineering background. This individual will be a highly motivated, technically competent professional person who is capable of working both independently and as an integral part of a multi-disciplined technical exploitation team. The person in this role will provide exploitation and reservoir engineering skills to manage waterflood projects and develop core area exploitation opportunities.
The primary functions of this position include:
• Working within a multi-disciplined team environment, evaluation and initiation of exploitation opportunities that maximize oil recovery on existing pools, including improving and optimizing existing waterfloods and proposing and implementing new waterflood projects;
• Creation, coordination and implementation of a waterflood performance monitoring program designed to maximize oil recoveries as well as meet internal and regulatory requirements; and
• Assistance on evaluation of selected acquisition opportunities and with annual reserves evaluations and reporting functions.
The Person
The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer possessing approximately 10 years of exploitation and reservoir engineering experience. This individual will possess strong technical skills and can function effectively as an integral member of the team. Preference will be given to candidates who have an engineering background working with Williston Basin oil properties, including waterflood design and monitoring. This position requires that the individual possess strong data management and computer skills with a good working knowledge of technical engineering software programs.
Compensation
Compensation includes a salary competitive with industry standards and in accordance with experience levels and technical qualifications.
